On Friday, it became clear that Elisabeth "Bettan" Högberg will take home the overall victory in the IBU Cup. She will be the first Swedish to do so.

- It feels really good, sick fun and unexpected, she tells SVT Sport.

"Dreaming of it tonight"

Högberg was chased by Ekaterina Glazyrina in the total and if the Russian went to win the final mass start in Minsk, she had to become top 13. And she was anything but calm before the race.

- I was so sick. I couldn't sleep and have dreamed about it tonight. The shooting didn't work at all today and I was just trying to keep track of where she was in the field, says Högberg.

She finished in eleventh place in today's competition, but Glazyrina did not get better than 22nd, and so it was clear.

- Tonight we go out and eat. Then I go home to Östersund and just take it easy, I see that ahead.

The season turned into Martell

When she gets to sum up her season, the first reaction is not joy, but dissatisfaction. Until the races in Martell, in February, she was not happy with her shooting.

She started the competitions there with getting sick and did not start in the first three competitions - then she ended with two wins.

- Right there was the focus on the shooter because I felt that I will not have the ride, then all of a sudden both of them worked and I do two good races and win both. Then it continues in the same style at the European Championships so it just worked out all of a sudden, she says.

In total there were six wins in the IBU Cup this season and Högberg never finished outside the top 15.
