Concussion and a sharp twist on the left knee were the result of a great training in Italy for Mattias Rönngren. The 26-year-old has been recovering from a concussion, but left-handers take longer to heal.

- I haven't driven anything since then. The plan is that I will be able to drive a little next week, says Mattias Rönngren to SVT Sport.

Missing remaining VC contests

Rönngren, who finished sixth in the Parallel Grand Slalom in Alta Badia in December, will not enter any more world cup competitions for the alpine rider.

- The idea is that I will be able to compete but there will be no more World Cup and probably not European Cup either. There will probably be some competitions in Sweden and NM and SM, says Rönngren to SVT Sport.

Another injured Swedish alpine skier is Felix Monsén, who injured himself during the downhill section of the combination race in Bormio at the end of January. Then the Stockholmer was hit by a concussion and the aftermath of the crash has kept the skier away from the competition ever since.

- It was like a whiplash injury. I have been treated now and feel that I am getting better and better. There will be no more downpours for me, it is already decided. But the super-G on Sunday can get rid of, says Monsén to SVT Sport.
