Yesterday, the Football Association and the Professional League Association decided officially to hold various local football competitions without the attendance of the fans, in the interest of the Federation and the Association for the public safety of all, and in coordination with the competent authorities in the country, regarding the latest health developments related to the spread of the new Corona virus known as « COVID19 », and the precautionary measures taken by all concerned to protect society.

The Football Association affirmed, in a press statement, that, “As a result of the Football Association’s keenness on the safety of players, members of the technical and administrative apparatus and the masses, it was decided to hold all matches in the various local football competitions in all its categories: (President’s Cup, First Division, Second Division League, Sunni stages competitions, futsal ball competitions, beach ball and women's competitions), without the presence of the masses, from its date until another notice, after coordination with the concerned authorities ».

The Football Association called on all those involved in the soccer sector in the country and the clubs and academies to abide by the decision, in order to preserve the safety of all. In contrast, yesterday, I also announced the Professional League

Holding the Arab Gulf League matches starting from the 18th round that starts tomorrow, as well as the 21-year League, without the presence of the public. The association said the decision was a precaution, due to concerns about the Corona virus.

And she emphasized: "Starting from the principle of public safety, the Emirates Professional Association will follow up with the relevant authorities the current health conditions, and the precautionary and preventive measures undertaken by the various authorities." The statement added: "In light of these facts, it was decided to hold all the matches of the competitions organized by the League without fans until further notice, in order to ensure safety for all."
