At the beginning of the week, double specialist Robert Lindstedt stretched and linked off the workout with a wound left leg. Now the medical examination is done.

- Robert has been investigated today. He has a slight stretch, but it should not be a danger for the weekend, says newly-entered Davis Cup captain Robin Söderling to SVT Sport.

Worse yesterday - better today

42-year-old Lindstedt is a well-regarded doubles player with over 20 doubles. He is thus an important cornerstone of the Swedish Davis Cup team. To SVT Sport Lindstedt now gives soothing message.

- Yesterday it didn't feel good at all. But today it is a better message. The ultrasound examination showed an easier stretch, says Lindstedt.

What do the coming days look like to be able to play for the weekend?

- It is rehabilitation too full, I have been in the gym all morning. After all these years I have a good track record. There should be no danger for Saturday, Lindstedt tells SVT Sport.

Chile stands for resistance

The resistance is greatly weakened. Chile's top name, Christian Garin, 18th in the world rankings, is injured and misses the match and Nicolas Jarry, 89th, is suspended for doping, but despite that, Lindstedt does not want to claim any victory in advance.

- On paper, it has become an easier match. But we do not charge anything in advance. I've been around for so long and lost to opponents who were worse than me. But we need to be able to take the audience in support, then we can win, concludes Lindstedt.

Sweden and Chile meet on Friday and Saturday.
