Calle Halfvarsson was forced to cancel the Ski Tour in mid-February due to a cold. In the same vein, he told me that he could be forced to do a stomach operation after the season, as his stomach was a recurring concern during the winter.

- Now Calle is back on the track. It's an ongoing job with the stomach. It is something that comes and goes but when Calle is symptom free then it is not something that stands in the way of him, says men's coach Mattias Nilsson.

Halfvarsson thus runs Wednesday's sprint but then chooses to rest to focus on the season ending which consists of three stops in North America, starting in Québec on March 14.

- He drives in Konnerud but it feels like it would be a bit juicy to go in Holmenkollen and then directly to Canada and the US. We try to get together a layout that fits, it's close to competitions, Nilsson notes.
