A heavy snowfall and heavy winds made it difficult for the riders in Vasaloppet. Best Swedish was Klas Nilsson, from Skellefteå, who finished fifth at the time 04.26.13. He was 59 seconds behind Petter Eliassen.

- It becomes special when you only think about saving energy in this company. I had really good skiing, but in the end I had nothing to give, he says.

- I am tired and have really struggled. Right now I'm just so tired and was completely empty at the end. I really wanted to make up for it, but I couldn't stand it, says a noticeably taken Klas Nilsson to SVT Sport.

Despite standing for a top spot, Klas Nilsson had problems with the equipment for several kilometers.

- It felt like I was about to catch up there for a while, but I broke a tip around Hökberg. Then I saw Petter Eliassen and Stian Hoelgaard and it was sour when I went without a tip for three kilometers.
