The Sports Medicine Committee of the Football Association has approved, during its periodic meeting at the Federation’s headquarters in Dubai, the unification of the fitness model and medical examinations for the registration of players starting from next season, which includes examining a doctor, a cardiologist, and a club doctor, in addition to examining the detection of vitamin D as a Mandatory, and emphasizing the importance of recording the player’s medical history - if any - as a major requirement to register it.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Mustafa Al Hashemi, in the presence of Dr. Saeed Al Thani and Dr. Bassam Mahboub, Dr. Magdi Iskandar, Physiotherapist Aisha Kajour, and Committee Secretary Mohamed El Sayed. The meeting also discussed the needs of the medical staff for the teams during the next stage with the aim of providing the optimal medical service for all players, in addition to providing medical requirements for the team born in 2001 during its participation in the Arab Cup in Saudi Arabia from the 15th of this year to the 5th of next March.
The committee stressed the unification of ambulance services provided during the matches in all its stages, and its competitions, according to the local standards of the Ministry of Health and health authorities, in addition to the standards of the International and Asian Football Confederation.
