Chelsea coach Frank Lampard is confident that Moroccan winger Hakim Ziash will add the creative touch that midfield has missed this season after the English Premier League football club announced the signing of Ajax Amsterdam.

Ziash, 26, helped Ajax win the League and Cup double in the Netherlands last season, and will move to Chelsea after the end of the season, for 40 million euros (43.36 million dollars) initially after the announcement of the two clubs agreement on Thursday.

"He is a player we certainly hope brings us creativity and gives us a different addition, scores goals and provides decisive passes, he has great left foot, and he plays in general on the right side but he can play behind the spear Also".

"When you watch our matches this season sometimes we face suffering to open the door and find gaps in defense, I know that he will not join us now, but it is exciting for the club and the fans to know that he will be here next season, and I think he is a great player."

Chelsea did not include any player in the January transfer window despite the lifting of the contract ban, and Lampard faced questions about the transfer of new players to Stamford Bridge.

Veteran wings, Pedro and Willian, expire at the end of the season.

"I don't know, we have to get preoccupied with our situation this season," he replied, as Chelsea finished fourth with 41 points.

"The priority is to stay in the golden square, and this is the most important issue for us, but we are always coordinating efforts to try to improve, and improvements may be required in the summer, and we will strive to ensure appropriate options."
