The Russian ski star took his fourth straight distance victory as he drove home the victory in Falun. In doing so, he extended his lead in the overall position.

The 23-year-old stayed ahead of the crowd throughout the race, had one fall, but crossed the finish line 0.8 seconds ahead of Norwegian Sjur Röthe and almost ten seconds ahead of compatriot Ivan Jakimushkin.

Bolshunov and Röthe were at the same time on the rally when the Russian put in the decisive jerk.

- Röthe is doing well, but he does not have the speed that Bolshunov has. He is in a class of his own in such races when Kläbo is not present and can sprint. Bolshunov is the world's best skier right now, no talk about it, says SVT expert Mathias Fredriksson.

Strange race for Halfvarsson

Calle Halfvarsson became best Swedish in 13th place, but had a strange and swinging race.

The home runner started well and was in the lead after five kilometers, but crashed a few kilometers later and then came back.

- I have the attitude that I would rather give it than try and that it will fail, than not try at all, he tells SVT Sport.

- It went too fast and I stumbled and had to slow down. I lost many positions as I tried to calm myself down and regain my strength so as not to fall through completely in the starting field. Then I came back decent, he continues.
