Switch rackets to slippers and play table tennis tournament in Matsue city on February 8 at 14:02

A table tennis tournament in which slippers are used instead of rackets was held in Matsue City.

This meeting was held every year at this time by an executive committee formed by Matsue City and the Ryokan Cooperative Association of Tamazo Onsen to attract tourists, and about 300 people from inside and outside the prefecture participated.

Until now, the event was held in a gymnasium in a spa town, but due to the increase in participants, the venue has been moved to the Matsue City General Gymnasium.

The tournament was divided into experienced and beginners, with men and women, mixed doubles, and two sets of 11 points to win first.

Participants used the slippers like a table tennis racket, continued the rally, and enjoyed the game.

A boy from Yamaguchi Prefecture said, "It was difficult but fun to use slippers."

An international student from Benin, Africa, said, "I want to practice and win next year."

Mr. Hiroki Imabayashi of the executive committee said, "Since the tournament started, many people have participated every year and feel the response. I want to keep Matsue and the hot spring town going to be exciting."
