The preseason became something completely different from what Viktor Thorn had wanted. He underwent two operations for disc herniation and it was not until November that he was back in the ski tracks.

At the weekend's competitions in Falun, he finally makes a comeback in the World Cup.

- Something I've been working on since I was told it would be a second operation. It's been faster than I thought. At first, I thought I would be back for the SM week or the end of the season, says Viktor Thor to SVT Sport.

So far, the pain in his back has not been reminded again.

- I have run four races before, then it felt good and I hope it will feel better and better, he says.

Hope for continuous training

Now that two surgeries have been done, it is clear what he would most like it to give effect.

- Above all, that I can train continuously. Last year I had to skip the SM week because I was in pain. For example, I have not been able to do jump exercises or train my excitement because it has hurt, so I hope to be able to do now, he says.

Not following the competitions

When he got home instead of on the race track, he has not followed the races. Then there has been something else that has attracted.

- I've checked a little, but not very much. When I'm not competing myself, I think it's a bit tough to look at. More fun to check out Formula One or some series, Thorn says.

"Then I leave here satisfied"

For the weekend's competitions, it is the feeling rather than the results that are the most important.

- I do not want to set any result goals, if I get a good feeling then I leave here satisfied, he says.
