On Friday afternoon, the Swedish Athletics Association held a press conference on the message that Robel Fsiha is suspended for doping.

The union's secretary general Stefan Olsson and the union captain Karin Torneklint attended and were both disappointed.

- I feel most sorry and worried for all those who do exemplary behavior, says Torneklint.

Is about trust

In recent years, Swedish athletics has had several doping cases. Among other things, Ababa Aregawi tested positive for meldonium, but was later released when the anti-doping agency Wada withdrew the substance from the list of banned drugs. Another case was Meraf Bahta who was shut down a year after making three straight misses in his stay reporting.

The union captain thinks that it is problematic and that it is important to have confidence in the practitioners.

- A lot of people work with a lot of different coaches. It is very much based on trust, that we can get the individuals and those they work to understand that doping is not okay. It requires that we constantly talk about the issue and that we have a consensus, ”she says.

Secretary-General Stefan Olsson also believes that trust is important.

- We have to work with confidence, based on the business we have. Trusting people is among the finest there is, but it also means you can be fooled sometimes. Spontaneously I feel personally deceived, he says.

Like a roller coaster

The Athletics Association had a brilliant start to the week when Armand Duplantis jumped 6.00 meters and was close to breaking the world record of 6.17 meters. But the week saw a less successful end.

- On Tuesday night euphoria, magic and almost world record. Yesterday at one o'clock I open an envelope from the National Sports Federation. Disappointment, curse and consternation. Tomorrow is a new day, a new competition with new opportunities, says Stefan Olsson.
