The defending European champions of the Saracens, already in the national doldrums, are the subject of an investigation for having used an ineligible player during a victory against Racing 92 (27-24), announced l 'EPCR Friday.

This victory, after having played a large part of the match with 14 against 15, had offered to the Saracens their ticket for the quarterfinals for which they must go on April 4 to Leinster. At the time of the game, the Sarries had brought in the American international pillar Titi Lamositele (24) before realizing that his work permit, valid at the time of the announcement of the groups for the match, had in fact expired the day before the meeting.

The London suburban club denounced itself to the EPCR and pleaded "an inadvertent administrative error". But the organizer of the European competitions decided to entrust the disciplinary procedure to an independent commission which was to meet Friday at the end of the day. The EPCR did not specify the sanctions incurred by the Saracens.

A new conviction would be another blow in an already terrible season for the double champion of England, promised to relegation at the end of the season for having exceeded the salary ceiling for several years.
