Former longtime star Petter Northug made a temporary comeback in the Norwegian championships on Sunday. And Northug was hanging with the first leg of the relay, 3x10 km, for Strindheim's second team.

- After 300 meters, I repented. It is a body that today weighs more than 90 kilos and then it becomes heavy after a while, Northug tells NRK.

The 34-year-old, who quit his elite career in December 2018, switched to 17th man, 42.6 seconds behind leader Jan Thomas Jenssen from Hommelvik.

- The level here is not that high. It is enough to work out once or twice a week, so you hang out in a NM relay, says Northug.
