The wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, witnessed yesterday evening the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the Games for Arab Clubs for Women, organized by Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, with the participation of 78 clubs from 18 Arab countries competing for titles Nine major games, as of February 12.

The ceremony, which was held at the Sharjah Sports Club stadium, started with the national peace of the Emirates, so that the audience then had a date with a sports scene that was shared by the participating players and delegations on the land of Sharjah, where all the flags of the Arab countries were raised as part of the review of the gathering of delegations and technical bodies, including a special video presentation The session, and the performance of the female players and referees section in front of the public and the committees supervising the event, after which the public will enjoy the artistic spectacular displays that introduced the most important sporting event in the region in the field of women's sport.

The ceremony hosted the Emirati artist Hussein Al Jasmi, the Extraordinary Ambassador of Goodwill, who presented the song of the official session "Arab Women", which expressed in her words the evolving reality of Arab sports, and Sharjah's position as the incubator for the most important sporting competitions.

During the ceremony, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi welcomed the participating delegations on the land of Sharjah and the UAE, and expressed her happiness with this fraternal gathering, stressing that the Games for Arab Clubs for Women has become the most prominent sporting event in the Arab world that supports the aspirations and hopes of women athletes, wishing success to all players Arab women, describing their participation as "an industry for new success."

Her Highness thanked Her Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for his continued follow-up, and his continuous support for women's affairs in Sharjah, and His Highness's constant guidance to provide all the capabilities available to enable her in various aspects of life.

Her Highness said: “After long efforts and hard work, Arab sportswomen achieved a number of qualitative achievements that call for pride, and were able, through what they offer on the ground, to change the stereotypical image of the reality of Arab women, who for many years remained hostage to a narrow view that limited the development of their capabilities and capabilities, Sharjah’s embrace of the course comes in the context of its commitment to the various development paths and its keenness to enhance the presence of sport as a major component for building strong and cohesive societies and a unifying factor for cultures and civilizations. ”

Her Highness praised the efforts of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation team and all those involved in their dedication to work, in order to come out with a course worthy of Sharjah’s position as an incubator for the most important sporting events.

Competitions

In the largest Gulf participation in its history, the UAE tops the list of participating countries with 15 clubs at the level of all games: «Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Archery, Equestrian, Bow and Arrow, Athletics, Karate, and Fencing», followed by Saudi Arabia, which participates in 12 Club in all games except for shooting, while Bahrain represents eight clubs in all games without equestrianism, and represents Kuwait in the fields of "basketball, table tennis, shooting, athletics, and karate" six clubs, and three clubs from the Sultanate of Oman participate in the level of games « Shooting and Athletics » Fly involved in shooting clubs «fencing».

Six clubs in the field of "basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, equestrian, athletics, and karate" compete, while seven clubs from Algeria play in the games of "basketball, volleyball, table tennis, archery, bow" Arrow and Karate », and the Arab Republic of Egypt represents four clubs within the competitions of“ basketball, table tennis, karate, and fencing ”.

Three clubs from the Syrian Arab Republic struck a date with the confrontations of "basketball, volleyball, and karate", and three clubs from Libya participate in "table tennis, athletics, and karate" games, while Sudan participates in "equestrian and athletics", and Palestine is playing "Athletics and Karate" competitions, and Iraq competes in the field of bow and arrow, and Morocco in table tennis, while Lebanon is preparing for the equestrian fields, and the Comorian players are playing athletics.
