With two good introductory rounds, Marcus Kinhult had given himself a fine position ahead of the second half of the European Tour competition in Saudi Arabia. But on Saturday he probably wants to forget.

Kinhult admittedly made four birdies, but also six bogeys and three double bogeys, and with 78 strokes for the day, he fell from eighth to 73rd place - third from the end of all remaining in the competition. Up to leader Graeme McDowell, Northern Ireland, he has 20 strokes.

Stenson on par

Henrik Stenson is best placed by the Swedes ahead of the closing round, but he too will find it difficult to challenge the very top positions. The 43-year-old walked around on par, 70 strokes, on Saturday, and is split ten on five under par, seven strokes from the lead.

Alexander Björk is 27th (–2), and Sebastian Söderberg is 47th (pair).
