Al Ain's Portuguese coach, Pedro Emmanuel, spoke about the participation of his Brazilian player, Caio Canedo, in his previous team meeting, scheduled for Saturday, when the "leader" receives his guest Al Wasl at the summit of the 15th round matches of the Arab Gulf Football League.

Caio moved to the Al Ain class this season, coming from Al Wasl, in a deal that cost the "Al Zaeem" treasury $ 6 million.

Saturday's match will be the second between Al Ain and Al Wasl since Caillou's arrival at "Dar Al Zain", but the player missed the first round match due to injury.

Pedro said at the press conference today that: "Caio suffers from an injury that has been haunted since the beginning of the season, we want him to recover from it permanently, we can use it in part of the Al Wasl meeting."

He added: "My strategy in general is to push the ready player and as everyone saw, as Caio missed the previous two matches against Khor Fakkan and the Uzbek Bunyodkor, the team won, for me I trust all the players of the team, including the substitutes."

On the historical superiority of the Al Ain team over its rival Al Wasl in the Arab Gulf League, the Portuguese coach said that history and statistics are just numbers, and he said: "As for me, I do not care about them at all because they have no value."

He continued: "In practice, Al-Wasl is a strong team and it has not lost 10 league games. We have to be patient and take advantage of any opportunity we find to score."

Al Ain team is ranked fifth with 24 points, while "Emperor" has 22 points in eighth place.

The confrontation between the two teams will be renewed at the end of this month in the President’s Cup quarter-finals.
