Dresden is a successful world sport for the Swedish sprinters, it was extra obvious after today's competitions. After Maja Dahlqvist and Linn Svahn drove home the victory in the women's sprint relay, the Swedish men's team with Johan Häggström and Marcus Grate stood for a minor scrap when they took home a second place.

The last one there were Swedish gentlemen on the podium was two years ago, even then in Dresden. Then it was Teodor Petersson and Emil Jönsson, today the company Grate / Häggström started stable. The Swedes hung on the two Norwegian teams and the French throughout the race. After eight stretches, Marcus Grates's wand became dramatic. Luckily for Grate, the pole break happened just before the switching zone and the Swede was able to change the pole without any major loss of time.
