Shiffrin got a hit and was pushed out into the track and fell on a classic inside ski and was able to join the track. She then stood up but realized that the day was still ruined and broke the competition. At the second interim, Shiffrin, who had starting number 21, was three hundredths behind the lead.

"It was a field trip and very unusual to see," says SVT Sports expert Pernilla Wiberg, who heard that Shiffrin fears knee injuries and developed a precautionary technique when danger arises.

- She has invented almost her own style and is almost always very confident, which means that she almost never ends up in the outer positions because she is afraid of doing bad knees, says Wiberg.

At the same time as Shifrin was pondering his fate on the slopes, Petra Vlhova packed up his stuff and left the goal area. The Slovakian also ran out and the slalom part will be decided without the slalom giants fighting for the victory in the overall cup.
