On January 6, the Soviet figure skater Natalya Bestemyanova celebrates her 60th birthday. The athlete began her career as a loner and only at 17 turned into ice dancing. There, her first and only partner was Andrei Bukin. Under the leadership of the Honored Trainer of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova, the couple became a triumph of the 1988 Olympic Games, a four-time winner of the World Championships and a five-time winner of the continental championships. After completing her professional career, Bestemyanova staged programs for the strongest skaters in the world, including Olympic champion Sarah Hughes and Russian duet Tatyana Navka - Roman Kostomarov. In April 2019, Bestemyanova and Bukin were included in the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
