Espanyol imposed a 2-2 draw at Barcelona in a Catalan derby match on Saturday in the 19th stage of the Spanish Football League.

David Lopez Silva advanced with a goal for Espanyol (23), but Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez equalized for Barcelona (50), before making the second goal for his Chilean teammate Arturo Vidal (59). Two minutes before the end of the match, Chinese substitute Wu Li kidnapped the homeowner's equalizer.

Barcelona has played 10 players since the 75th minute after Dutchman Frankie de Jong was sent off for a second booking.

Earlier on Saturday, Real Madrid temporarily seized the lead by defeating hosts Getafe with three goals, but Barcelona regained the summit quickly, but with a difference of goals only from the Royal Club.

Barcelona raised its score to 40 points in the lead, on goal difference from runners-up Real Madrid, while Espanyol's balance rose to 11 points in 20 place.
