In mid-December, Storvreta chose to kick coach Andreas Harnesk before the derby against Sirius. Harnesk took the team to the SM gold last year with a points record during the series. In his place, assistant coach Kristofer Widlundh took over. Next season, Widlundh will be head of the club and therefore the club is chasing a permanent head coach as well as an assistant coach.

Storvreta has yet to announce any names yet - but one name the club has heard of is the club icon Mika Kohonen, according to SVT Sports data. Something that also Vice President Henrik Ededahl confirms.

- We talked to Mika to come and support Kristofer Widlundh until we found a permanent solution. But not as head coach at the moment, Ededahl says.

Long Injured

Mika Kohonen has been selected as the world's best floor player on several occasions. Between 2005 and 2015, he played in Storvreta where he won six SM golds. Kohonen has reached the age of 42 and now plays in the Finnish high school with Happee. But right now rehabilitates after tearing off the health scene in December.

- It looks like it'll be a while before he's back on his feet. A solution may not be relevant as he now has six weeks in plaster. We may not wait that long, Ededahl says, and continues:

- So far, Mika has a little bit of pain after the surgery. He is not even up and going in the days. Indoor volleyball feels a little far away right now, and we'll see if that's possible.

You don't close the door completely anyway?

- No we do not. Mika is always interesting and we always want him back in the association. He is an important part of Storvreta and we would like to have him in some way.

Can he stay up to date next season?

- We have not brought that dialogue with Mika over the main thing. Without it there has only been a temporary solution since he became available because of his injury.

Mika Kohonen

To SVT Sport, Mika Kohonen tells that he has not yet made a decision on whether it will be games next season.

- I return to Finland on January 20 and I have a contract that extends the season even though I can't play anything more this season. But I haven't made any decision about the next season, he says, and tells about the interest:

- Me and Storvreta have had discussions every year in one way or another. Once I quit, I must have something to do.
