The second phase of the 'Oikos operation' developed by the National Police in coordination with Europol has certified the line of investigation that pointed to alleged threats also in several football matches in Italy, with the involvement of Seria A players, the First League of this country.

A total of 14 people were arrested in this second phase of the operation jointly developed in Spain and Italy, where the Polizia Di Stato carried out two searches related to those arrested for crimes of corruption between individuals, money laundering and unfair administration.

As reported by the National Police on Friday, during the investigation several attempts to match parties in the Italian Serie A have been detected and, in addition, the relationship that the leaders of the organization had with an illegal bookmaker in Italy whose clients were people of high purchasing power, including Italian First League football players.

In the first phase of the 'Oikos operation' carried out in May - when eleven arrests were made - investigators already pointed to Italy as one of the countries where the organization led by Spanish former soccer players Carlos Aranda and Raúl Bravo had entered, those who qualified as "the bad guys" in a network of money laundering and other illegal activities, including drug trafficking. Specifically, the attempt was made to match a match between Cagliari and Frosinone.

In that first phase of 'Oikos' (house, in Greek) the police officers found several handwritten sheets that collected a collection, distribution, return and delivery of funds for the conditioning of a sports result of the Second Football Division of the Spanish League. A Huesca-Nástic of 2018 and the alleged cousin orchestrated by the club from Oscense to condition the Reus-Valladolid of 2017 are investigated, according to police sources.

An Italian researched

This Friday the Police said that the investigation focused on an Italian person who was directly linked to the principal investigated in the 'Oikos operation'. In the investigation that instructs a Court of Huesca there are police reports on conversations between Carlos Aranda , currently based in Malaga, and an Italian citizen identified as Mattia Mariotti.

It was here that, according to the Police, clandestine bets were made with the alleged participation of top-level athletes.

One of the two registries in Italy was carried out in the main office of the Italian citizen investigated, where various documentation was found that directly relates to the principal investigated of the operation in Spain.

The designated as 'ringleader' along with Raúl Bravo was intervened by many telephone conversations with others involved and even with people in his family and emotional environment, whom he guided in betting and alerted to keep silent.
