There was no doubt who was the big match winner when Melbourne City FC today won by 2-1 in the derby against Melbourne City FC.

The team captain Ola Toivonen scored both teams goals. The first was a nice leap one quarter into the match, and the second a goalkeeper return where Toivonen was nicely placed in front of goal and could nod into the open goal.

"Real fighting spirit"

The victory makes Melbourne Victory climb to second place in the table, six points after the superb Sydney FC series leader.

- We showed a great fighting spirit and we created lots of chances. I am happy and hope that we will play like this in upcoming matches as well, says defender Tim Hoogland on Melbourne Victoria's website.

Toivonen is third in the A-League shooting with seven goals in eleven matches.
