Al Ain defender, Mohamed Ahmed, the national coach, Mahdi Ali, considered the most appropriate option for training the national team in the next stage, after the departure of Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk. The player assured: "I will not be biased if I say that Mahdi is the best fit for the next stage, as his numbers and results with (White) are talking about him, not me."

He added that the other common name, related to the former Croatian coach Al Ain Zoran, is also a good option, but he does not support his presence, pointing out that the team needs a coach who knows the mentality of the Emirati player and his potential, and the local ball. Mohamed spoke in an interview with "Emirates Today" about the reasons for the fluctuating level and results of Al Ain in the league, the criticisms that affect his team's defense line, and the ambitions of the "leader" in the AFC Champions League.
