Yesterday was the last day to apply for access to the association's tickets for Sweden's matches during this summer's European Cup finals. The pressure has been enormous and despite the fact that Sweden has been allocated more tickets than usual, demand is considerably higher than supply.

"I have talked to colleagues who have been with me for a long time and the pressure on tickets now has not been so severe since the 2006 World Cup in Germany," says Christoffer Lund, ticket manager at the Swedish Football Association, to SVT Sport.

One of the reasons why many want tickets can, according to Lund, be due to the relatively short route and the fact that Sweden got two of the group games in Dublin.

- It will be well organized by various support groups especially in Dublin so it is clear that it will be cool to experience the atmosphere there, says Lund.

More tickets from Uefa

Ahead of this summer's European finals, more tickets than usual have gone out to supporters. Sweden has received 10,000 tickets and that is significantly more than was awarded during the last World Cup final.

Although there are more tickets than usual, the majority of fans who applied for will be without. However, there is little hope of new tickets when the last playoff match is played.

- We are trying to have good communication with Uefa about the next sales phase. When the last qualifying matches are played, more tickets may be released. We do not know what is left, but we have told our fans to keep an eye on uefa.com as well as our own website, says Christoffer Lund.
