FIFA's agent commissions have reached a record $ 653.9 million this year, up 19.3 percent from last year, FIFA said on Wednesday.

At least one agent has taken part in 3,557 transfers out of a total of 17,000 transfers so far this year, he said, adding that 80 percent of the agent's commissions came from clubs in Italy, England, Germany, Spain, France and Portugal.

In women's football, FIFA said at least one agent had been involved in 242 transfers so far this year, although agent fees paid "more than tripled" from last year.
