Last season's big sensation in the ski world, Frida Karlsson, had a heavy Saturday in the mini tour in Finnish Ruka. When it was run 10 km classically yesterday, she "just" stopped in place eleven after stressing too much in the ride.

Therefore, she only started in 15th place when the tour ended today with a 10 km long freestyle hunting start.

Led the chasing quartet

Today it initially looked like it would be more fun. Already after 1.1 km, she had climbed three kilometers, and half a mile later she was six and led the group that chased the quartet that fought for the pallet seats behind the superb leader Therese Johaug.

The distance up to that quartet was about 14 seconds, and she never got closer. Karlsson lost significantly in the final stage of the race and finished in eighth place, 1.53 behind Therese Johaug. However, Karlsson's ride time today was the fifth best in the race.

- The first three laps were really brilliant, then she didn't really manage. But it was significantly better than before this mini-tour, says SVT Sports expert Anders Blomquist.

Won by over a minute

Victory Johaug started with an 18 second margin down to Sadie Bjornsen. The victory margin became even greater. Heidi Weng was 1.11.3 seconds behind Johaug, and Astrid Jacobsen completed the Norwegian triple just behind.

- I had a really good race today, and my skis were excellent. The ramparts did an excellent job. I did a really good race today, says Johaug.

"By far the best"

Anders Blomquist was impressed with Johaug's efforts.

- What is a little nasty is that she - if she had needed - she could have gassed even more, I have a feeling. She is by far, by far the best rider right now, he said.
