Arsenal has announced this morning the dismissal of Unai Emery , a London team coach for the past 18 months.

The defeat of the 'gunners' in their last Europa League match has been the trigger for the final decision of the club's board, tired of the bad results in the Premier League and in the continental competition. Arsenal fell in their state by a goal to two against the German Frankfurt Eintracht , in which it was the seventh consecutive game without knowing the victory.

Emery has not made a good start, having the club in eighth place in the Premier with four wins, six draws and three losses, eight points from Chelsea, ten from Manchester City and almost 20 from Liverpool. In the Europa League, yesterday's defeat forces Arsenal to win in the last match of the group stage if they want to keep the first place for the qualifiers.

In a statement published on their website, Josh Kroenke , club owner, thanks the Spanish coach for his work for the year and a half that has been at the head of the gunner bench, and assures that the decision has been made for results that were not "at the required level".

Former Arsenal player Freddie Ljungberg will take over the team temporarily while the board finds a new coach.
