In December last year, Malmö boxer Sven Fornling won against the merited German Kayo Murat, thus taking over the IBO belt (which, however, does not weigh as heavily as the four major organizations' master belts) in light heavyweight.

Tonight it was time to defend the title for the first time. For the opposition stood 29-year-old Dominic Bösel, and it became a tough match in German Halle.

The judges raised Boel's arms

Already in the second round Fornling was floored, and a couple of rounds later he began to bleed from a wound on the left eye.

30-year-old Fornling had a couple of rounds in the middle of the match where he got a little takeover, but overall it was Bösel who took over.

The referee broke the match

And in the eleventh and almost the last round, it ended. Bösel got in a couple of heavy blows, Fornling went down the mat and the referee stepped in and broke the match.

As a result, Fornling lost his IBO belt, and also lost the match for the WBA's interim title - which had taken him closer to a match against Badou Jack.
