The High School game between The Pleasantville Greyhounds and Camden Panthers was in the third period when it was interrupted after shots were fired from the stands. Big calabash broke out on the arena and both players and crowds rushed to take shelter.

The news agency AP reports that at least two people are seriously injured, but no fatalities have been confirmed.

Late on Friday evening, no one had been arrested for the act and the police are investigating if it can involve more than just one shooter.

The shooting in New Jersey took place just a day after a 16-year-old student opened fire at a high school in Santa Clarita, California, where two people were killed.
