Al-Darmaki: Volleyball needs to shake 7 degrees on the Richter scale

Abdullah Al Darmaki, Vice Chairman of Al Ain Sports Club Company, said that volleyball needs an earthquake of 7 degrees on the Richter scale to be rewritten and put an end to the current hash. The last time the regulations were revised and conformed to the International Game Federation, he said.

Al-Darmaki, in an interview with Emirates Today, criticized the volleyball federation and the mechanism of electing the board of directors, stressing that the electoral program has no vote compared to the associations that can give the candidate the lion's share of the vote.

Al-Darmaki answered many issues of interest to the game through the following dialogue:

- Do you have feedback on the season?

We have a threshold on the volleyball federation in many areas.For us, we do not see any work that contributes to the development of this sport, they work hard, but there is no output from this diligence, and any work without outputs that touch the needs of the sports street can not be called work.

- But the current Union brought by the General Assembly?

- What do you think the current Union needs to work in order to meet the aspirations of the sports street?

- Is your criticism directed at certain people in the game?

My criticism is not directed at a particular person, but to the work system. This is their second cycle at work, and there is talk that they are trying to prepare themselves to run for a third round. This is a field of work and the predominant in sports is the subject of linkages.

- Do you mean that the linkages are louder than the electoral program?

Al-Trabitat has damaged all volleyball games, basketball and even football. Do you still have the ambition to talk something? I do not think so, because they just have the love to continue in positions, and they have nothing to intercede for them to make an electoral program so they turn to the associations.

We have not seen any election programs. The linkages are the main concern because their voices are louder than the electoral program. They can win even without any electoral program, but only if they are "tied" in a strong way that gives you the lion's share of the vote.

- Do not you fear that your criticism will be understood as an aspirant to run for the presidency of the Union?

For me, I am not talking about me and I am not in a challenge or conflict with certain people.

- But if the current Union won a new round of your opinion will happen change in the work of the Union?

- In your opinion, the period is sufficient to formulate positions between now and the middle of next year when the elections?

The time is enough to make plans and programs and start visits, but there are a lot of questions to ask: Are you sure someone will listen to you? After the presentation will you get support ?.

Let the federation come out to talk about the work it has done to the men's team.There is a big default.There is no planning even for the Sunni teams.If you do not have a steady plan and work to achieve, there are short-term and other achievements, we have not seen any achievements.

In 2015 we hosted the U-23 World Championship but the team did not continue, they told us at the time that it would be the nucleus of the first team and would be supported regardless of the results to be achieved, but after the World Cup disappeared and only two or three players continued.

- How do you deal with the temptations that attract the player to football at the expense of other activities?

Let's be realistic, 95% of the support goes to football, and only 5% goes to the rest of the games. What could cover that small percentage? The whole support is destined for football.

- What is your interpretation of the movements of players between clubs every season?

The same elements of the players have been going on between clubs in the last seven years, and many elements have not appeared in the arena.

- What is your comment on the age of the players in the UAE?

Some arrived 51 and appeared more than one player walking along the same lines.

- How can the solution to save volleyball from disappearing in the absence of a new generation and the progress of the players' ages?

The solution is to have an earthquake with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale until it results in a complete screening of the whole game and is rewritten again.

When were the regulations updated? When were laws and regulations revised and complied with the International Federation? When was the last time the federation came out with a distinguished judging team? When was the last time organized seminars at the level of clubs and administrative staff and technical bodies? Global interest in volleyball is on the rise.

- Do you think someone will respond to this call?

My question to those in charge of all sports federations, not just the federation of aircraft, what is the state worth of you for what I have given you? You have to sit down with yourselves.
