There are several similarities between the two Swedes. They are long, big slopes that were chosen early in the draft. Hedman was chosen as number two in 2009 and last year Rasmus Dahlin became the second Swede, after Mats Sundin, to be selected as number one. And the ten-year-old slop from Örnsköldsvik has meant a lot to Dahlin during his trip to the NHL.

- I met him for the first time when I was 12, at a hockey camp. He is one of the biggest and it was clear that he looked at him a lot when he was a kid. That's what he looked up to and I think he has had a very big part in my career.

"It's ones in a lifetime"

Victor Hedman was praised as the NHL's best back in 2018. A prize he is convinced that even the 19-year-old will be able to place in his prize cabinet eventually.

- He will be the best in the world at his position. He's already lifted Buffalo. His ice skating, club technique, game spirit is world class already. There he lay in his age when he was lying.

Although Victor Hedman has played over ten seasons in the NHL, a tense 29 year old is expected to come into play.

- It's extremely big. I've said it many times before, it's "ones in a lifetime". You start to get a little nervous already, I do not usually be there before matches but to come home and play for the Swedish people, family, friends, that means a lot to me.

Hedman about Dahlin: "Will be the best in the world"
