Saman Ghoddos signed for the Ligue 1 club Amiens in the summer of 2018. The deal was preceded by a dispute with Spanish Huesca which meant that the Swede agreed with the La Liga club about a transfer, but that Ghoddos and Östersund withdrew.

Huesca then reported Ghoddos and ÖFK to Fifa - and got it right. Ghoddos was shut down for four months and fined SEK 43 million.

The suspension after Fifa's convict sentence is soon over, it expires December 28.

However, the fine is far from resolved. It is not excluded that an economically strained Östersund FK will be obliged to pay part of the gigantic fine, but as the situation is now the debt falls to Ghoddos himself.

- For me, it's not realistic. I also appealed, as I said, with the help of my lawyer. We'll see what happens. But it is not realistic and I have appealed the fine. However, I want to be clear with the fact that I did not appeal the suspension. I accepted it. That's because otherwise I could have gone on a four month suspension at a later time. So I took it now so that it could never come again. I accepted the suspension, but not the fine, says Ghoddos to Sportbladet.

Why is it not realistic?

- Because I don't even have the money! How did they really think? How should I be able to pay over SEK 40 million? But I don't want to comment on it anymore right now because we have appealed.

"It crushed me"

Ghoddos has not previously wanted to comment on the situation. Now he chooses to tell about his experience but points out that he does not want to speak specifically about the conflict with Huesca.

Ghoddos and Östersunds FK have appealed Fifa's verdict to the sports arbitration court, Cas, and want to await the decision.

- It took so long to melt. It crushed me. I was so sorry. I do not wish this my worst enemy. I was really far down at the bottom. Many people tried to pepper me saying: “Think of players who are long-term injured. How sad they are and how much they have to fight ”. I understood what they meant, but I'm not hurt. I'm healthy anyway. I'm in better shape than ever. I can't compare this to an injury.
