Lee Ann Walker's debut at the Senior LPGA Championship did not go quite as she expected.

She received 58 penalties because her caddy placed her in the putting position on the greens several times.

- This may be my way of becoming famous. But it might not be the way I wanted it to happen, she tells Golfweek.

"I was stupid"

Walkers did not know the rule, but found out about it at the fifth hole of the second round. She then received two penalties for each time it occurred, which meant 42 penalties for her first round and 16 on the second.

- This was my first competition round since 2011 or 2012. Now that I no longer play on the LPGA tour, I no longer watch golf. I knew there were some rule changes, but I honestly didn't know which ones. As simple as that. I was stupid who didn't go through the rule changes, she says.

Walker was obviously far from over the cut, finishing a total of 73 over par over two rounds. It was 75 strokes worse than the leader Helen Alfredsson.
