Fernando Alonso, who prepares his possible participation in the 2020 Dakar in Morocco, suffered in the first stage of this Morocco Rally because of a wheel and lost 45 minutes with respect to the winner, the great favorite Nasser Al-Attiyah.

The Toyota Hilux of Alonso, who takes Marc Coma as a co-driver, got to go sixth, but at the fourth checkpoint he had a problem with a wheel that left him standing for fifteen minutes, and when he resumed the march, he went to pace a lot slower, until losing 45 minutes.

Without surprises, the Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota) entered the first goal, with a time of 3h13: 09, followed by Frenchman Mathieu Seradori (Century), with 3h15: 48 and the South African Giniel de Villiers (Toyota), to 3h16: 23, ahead of the other great favorite, the Frenchman Stéphane Peterhansel (Mini).

As for the Spanish Carlos Sainz (Mini), he had problems with his GPS during the journey, and was eighth when he entered the finish line, losing fifteen minutes with respect to Al-Attiyah.

This Saturday's stage was 483 kilometers , but the entire first part was suspended because the organization discovered a problem that it did not specify in the route and canceled it; as a result, the cars did not leave until the noon edge to cover a path that was reduced to 226 kilometers.

There was a lot of rock and obstacles along the entire route, and Alonso was not the only one to suffer setbacks, but he who ended up paying it more expensive among the favorites; Al-Attiyah, who also suffered at the start of the race, recovered to sign a spectacular last rag.

In the five days of competition, cars and motorcycles will total a total of 2500 kilometers, of which 60% are presented by the organization as "unpublished tracks".
