• MotoGP. Here's the ranking

Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) can achieve this Sunday his eighth world title, sixth in MotoGP , fourth in a row. He hardly needs two points more than Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Desmosedici) in the Thai Grand Prix. The Buriram circuit could be the propitious scenario for this.

After his last victory in Aragon, Márquez has increased his difference with Dovizioso to 98 points in the absence of five grand prizes , that is, with 125 points at stake. New to the calendar since last year, Buriram's Thai circuit has only had one winner and that has been Cervera's own pilot.

In the current season, the Repsol Honda team leader, with the exception of the Austin Grand Prix (fall), his worst result has been a second place . That would also be worth it, unless the Italian ends up ahead of him. If it is third, it should prevent Dovizioso from being first or second. Any other result in which the Spaniard adds two points more than the Italian would make him champion and, if not, the achievement would be delayed until the race of Japan. That is, if it is fifth Marquez and Dovizioso is 7th or worse, and so on.

Márquez will be champion mathematically if :

- Win the race

- It's 2nd and Dovizioso doesn't win

- It is 3rd and Dovizioso is not 1st or 2nd

- It's 4th and Dovizioso doesn't finish on the podium (1st, 2nd or 3rd)

- It's 5th and Dovizioso is 7th or worse

- It is 6th and Dovizioso is 8th or worse (and so on)
