A River Plate fan died of a heart attack before facing Boca Juniors in the first leg of the Libertadores Cup semi-final, which ended in a 2-0 victory for River.
The Emergency Medical Care Authority said it had driven an ambulance to the Labrona Bridge leading to the Monumental Stadium, after receiving a sign that someone had suffered a heart attack.
Upon arrival, a 51-year-old River Plate fan, 51-year-old Aldo Hugo Martin, was confirmed dead and had gone to the stadium with his son to watch River's 2-0 win.
