The women's high jump in Belarusian Minsk developed into a world-class competition. Three jumpers were over 1.98 and the bar would be raised several more times before the evening was over.

And it was Yulia Levchenko who impressed most. The 21-year-old passed 2.00 and 2.02 in the first attempt, the latter new personal best with a centimeter for the formidable Ukrainian who exhaled in a win afterwards.

Second place also went in Ukraine's colors.

Iryna Herashcenko and Mariya Lasitskene both stayed at 1.98, but as Lasitskene brought with it a demolition from earlier, it did not get better than third place for the sovereign from Russia - who is clear at world level with 6.06 this year and has won most during the season.
