23-year-old Medvedev has had a controversy with the crowd in Flushing Meadows since he behaved badly and, among other things, tore a towel out of a functionary's hand and mocked the boisterous crowd after the match against Feliciano Lopez and incurred several fines.

- It was a very strange match. I was in pain and didn't think I would be able to play the game because of injury, but I'm happy to have reached my first Grand Slam semi-final, ”says Medvedev in the interview at center coach Arthur Ashe Stadium in Eurosport's broadcast.

"Painkillers start to work in the fourth set"

"I got pain in my thighs and had to take painkillers and they started to work in the fourth set," says Medvedev, who ended the match with an exquisite lobby, which showed the fantastic feeling that the Russian world-woman possesses.

How would you describe the relationship with the New York audience?

- It's electric and controversial. I know there are many who both like and dislike me, but I just try to be myself, ”says Medvedev, and most people applaud while some are embarrassed.

What do you want to say about it right now?

- I apologize and thank you so much.

The hard-wearing Medvedev now gets two rest days until the semi-finals against Roger Federer or Grigor Dimitrov.
