If AS Cannes, the historic football club of the city, has been much talked about since the middle of the summer, it is not because of its sports results, but of its new president. At 79, Anny Courtade, emblematic character of the city, took over the club after having experienced dozens of activities, some of which are far removed from the sport.

"Until the day I close my eyes ..."

The list is impressive: before presiding over the legendary club - which saw young Zinédine Zidane pass by - Anny Courtade was patron of hypermarkets, art collector and patron, then president of a world-class volleyball club. , the RC Cannes.

"When we're in eternity, we'll have plenty of time to rest," she smiles. "For now, it's always the passion that has driven me forward, that desire to win, to be unifying, to have teams around me, has never left me. I will close my eyes, I will have that passion that makes me live. "

Anny Courtade readily admits it: for her who collects more works of art - she holds Matisse, Chagall, Picabia and Caesar - that the scarves of supporters, the change of universe is this radical time. "I realized that football was driving crazy," she enthuses. "Everybody gives their opinion, everyone is passionate, it's a world I'm discovering, but it's very endearing."

His ambition is now to raise the AS Cannes of the 5th division in National 2 ... but also to develop the women's football! At 80, the hyperactive still has plans for a lifetime.
