- Frankly, I feel sorry for Pocono. The people who work here make it very hard. I felt the crowd at the start was fantastic, says Scott Dixon, second on Sunday and winner of the track in 2013 according to motorsport.com.

Death on the track four years ago

This year, all involved without serious injuries. But last year Robert Wickens was so badly injured that he is in a wheelchair today. In 2015, the British Justin Wilson died after being hit in the head by a piece that had come loose from a car.

- But due to the weather, some mistakes have been made on the course. In all honesty, it can happen anywhere. If you look at Justin or Robbie, those accidents can happen anywhere, Dixon says.

Will Power, who has won three of the last four races at Pocono, agrees.

- It's a good track to race on, I really hope we come back. It is difficult to find a good oval that fits our cars today, he says.

- There have been some unfortunate incidents here but just as Scott says they can happen anywhere. The track has received a bad reputation.

Injured driver: "It's a toxic relationship"

One who does not agree is Robert Wickens, who last year was thrown into the fence but, unlike Rosenqvist, got hung up. He is still recovering from his back injury and is sitting in a wheelchair today.

- How many times do we have to go through the same situation before we can accept that Indycar should not be run in Pocono. It's a toxic relationship and maybe it's time to think about divorce, he wrote after the crash on Twitter.
