The Scottish Open was the last chance for players to qualify for the European Solheim Cup team. Something that Anna Nordqvist and Caroline Hedwall managed.

Nordqvist came through his place on the world rankings among European players, and Caroline Hedwall via a third place on the Solheim Cup score.

In the Scottish Open, Nordqvist was the best among the Swedes after four days. Admittedly, she had her worst round of the weekend on Sunday when she walked around 70 strokes, but still finished in the split thirteenth place, a total of nine under par.

Madelene Sagström has been up and down this weekend. She started the contest with 67 strokes after the first round and then scored 70 and 72 on the following two days.

But on Sunday she again showed a fine game. Sagström had five birdies and walked - like on Thursday - around 67 strokes, four under par. Louise Ridderström was also four under par.

Sagström finished in 17th place and became second best Swedish. She certainly hopes that her strong last round will make her part of the Solheim Cup captain Catriona Matthews thoughts. She will take out four own player selections for the team on Monday afternoon, and Sagström may have a chance at one of the places.

Caroline Hedwall was split 35th in the Scottish Open, four under par. Water did South Korean Mi Jung Hur at -20.
