The growth of Carlos Sainz in the last three months with McLaren has not gone unnoticed for Formula 1. His 58 points in nine races, with only one not scored, confirm the progression of the McLaren driver, who faces the holidays as the main reference of The middle area of the grill. The latest recognition has come through the Power Rankings, the award given by the competition to assess the role of the drivers regardless of their car.
Sainz occupies the third position of this award, only behind Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, the most valued by the five experts responsible for distributing the points. The Madrid was scored with 45 credits, of 50 possible, after occupying the fifth place in the Hungarian GP.
"He did everything right to take his second consecutive fifth position. A great start allowed him to advance two places and he knew how to keep Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) behind," explained F1 about Sainz's performance on Sunday at Hungaroring. After the first 12 World Cup events, the Spaniard accumulates 42.2 points on average, while Verstappen adds 46.0 and Hamilton 43.5.
