It seems that some football fans do not differentiate between encouraging their team and not respecting the privacy of the other team, especially when it comes to the loss of Argentine striker Emiliano Sala, who was killed by the crash of a small plane was on board last month.

This type of fan appeared yesterday against Southampton and Cardiff City at Premier League, with two fans mocking Sala's death.

A videotape posted on the post-match web sites showed at least two Southampton fans mocking the incident, which sparked widespread mourning and solidarity with the family of the player by doing the same flight-and-crash movements, and channeling it toward the Welsh fans.

At the age of 28, Sala spent a small plane crash on the Channel 21 last month on her way from France, where he was defending Nantes, to Wales where he was to join Cardiff.

Cardiff played his first game of the season since the body was found last Thursday by visiting Southampton at St Mary's in the 26th round.

The club confirmed in a statement that the fans had been questioned by the police, and would take a "very strict position" on what happened.

"Southampton confirms that the fans have been booked," he said in a statement. "He will continue to cooperate with the Hampshire Police to identify individuals who have made inappropriate moves towards Cardiff fans."

"There is no place for a similar behavior in our game, and it will not be tolerated at St. Mary's Stadium. The club will take a very tough stand against anyone who proves his involvement and intends to prevent the fans who have been identified."
