The Organizing Committee of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games proposed on February 18 that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Board of Directors, which began in Lausanne, Switzerland, proposed a large frame of competition schedule and was approved. Regarding the order of baseball / softball which was being discussed, it was decided to carry out softball first, but the start time of the swimming finals was postponed.

There was a difference in recognition between the World Baseball Softball Federation (WBSC) and the Japan Baseball Organization (NPB) and the Organizing Committee as to whether baseball is ahead or soft. Although WBSC and NPB asked for the software, the organizing committee was considering a plan to baseball first.

Ultimately, we will hold a ceremony and a ceremony with Japan's national team of softball at Fukushima Prefecture Aazuma Baseball Stadium (Fukushima City) on 22nd two days before the opening ceremony (July 24th) to appeal the "revival Olympics" .

Regarding the baseball game format competing with six teams, we plan to have 16 games in total, using a "page system" of an irregular tournament which included a primary league with three teams at a time, followed by a loser recovery game.

Regarding swimming, adjustment is difficult due to whether to start the morning when the start time of the swimming finals is adjusted to the night of the US time. It was decided to leave to John Coates Adjustment Committee chairperson (IOC Vice Chairman) who is responsible for checking the preparation situation of the Tokyo Games.

From the 24th of August to the 9th of August, the tournament was conducted in 33 days, the largest number of 33 events in 17 days. I will decide details of which specific events will be concluded by next spring. (Maeda Daisuke, Lausanne = Shohei Nomura)
