Eleven goals were scored Friday night on the lawn of Hainaut, during an exceptional Valenciennes-Beziers won 6-5 by the Herault. Never before have so many goals been scored in L2 since the introduction of the single pool in 1993.

Beziers won Friday night at Valenciennes (6-5), in an extraordinary match that totaled eleven goals, a new record in Ligue 2 since the introduction of the single pool in 1993. The previous record was established during a meeting Troyes-Châteauroux (5-5) in December 2004.

Three goals in the last ten minutes. The match was all the more spectacular as Béziers was led three times to score on the lawn of Hainaut (0-1, 2-3, 3-5), before a final reversal of situation. It was indeed during the last ten minutes that Robin Taillan, Aboubakary Kanté and Ibrahima Savane scored the three goals that allowed the Biterrois to win the victory.

AS Béziers, who had not won away since November 2018, remains penultimate, but is only three points behind Sochaux, the defensive midfielder. The disappointment is however bitter for Valenciennes, who loses a place to slide to the 13th rank, and has only one point ahead of Sochaux.
