“After a detailed analysis of the situation, the management team decided not to take risks and not to release Ayrat Mardeev’s crew for the remaining special stages,” the team’s official website reports.
It is noted that this decision was made because of the possible destruction of the cylinder block of the car. In this case, the crew will not be able to be evacuated from the difficult sand dunes of the desert.
After five stages on the car Mardeeva cracks were found on the outside of the cylinder block and inside it.
Prior to this, the crew of the KamAZ-master under the management of Andrei Karginov was disqualified after hitting the viewer.
