Moment of the game: As spectacular as the match was sometimes, the loud cheering of the Dortmund fans in the 89th minute had nothing to do with the action on the pitch - but with the third goal of Bayer Leverkusen against Bayern Munich. As the result flashed on the video cube, it was clear to the BVB team: this draw against Eintracht was a success in the fight for the championship. Or at least "a small consolation", as BVB keeper Roman Bürki said after the game at Sky. Seven points have the Dortmund now lead on second place.

End of the series: BVB has never had as many points after 19 matchdays as in this season, namely 48. Now, after 20 matchdays, it is 49 points - and no longer the best. In the season 2010/2011 Jürgen Klopp's Dortmund got 50 points from 20 games and became champions. The title win was then already fixed before the last game, the opponent at that time: Eintracht Frankfurt. The BVB broke after all the celebrations together, won 3: 1 - and Frankfurt descended.

The result: 1: 1 (1: 1), here's the match report.

Bundesliga: A draw that feels like more

The first half: Dortmund managed to spend most of their time offensive and at the same time did not give Frankfurt too much room for their specialty: the quick counterattack. Only, that out of the multiplicity of chances only one goal emerged, one could complain from BVB point of view for a long time. Especially Marco Reus forgave best opportunities. Frankfurt had a good chance through Danny da Costa after three minutes, then it took until the 30th Minute, before the host was again dangerous. Ante Rebic failed once at Roman Bürki and once at the crossbar. The two goals by Marco Reus (22nd minute) and Luka Jovic (36th) were so nice that you have to honor them separately.

The second half: The pace was significantly reduced after the break compared to the first half. Even the highlights were rare. In the 57th minute saved BVB keeper Bürki a shot by Rebic. Paco Alcácer experienced something similar with Kevin Trapp on the other side (67 '). The last chance of the game had Alcacer, whose free kick but just over the goal went (84.).

Companion of the game: Unfortunately, the Bundesliga pros are not yet wired. Maybe you could have listened to how Raphael Guerreiro and Marco Reus planned their little masterpiece to make it 1-0. It began with a double double pass of the two Dortmund in the midfield, then dribbled Guerreiro by a crowd Frankfurter defender, put across and his companion Reus pushed the ball into the goal.

Jovic meets 1-1

Galopper of the match: Like a racehorse in the starting box, Luka Jovic tripped in the Dortmund penalty area. For one thing, the Frankfurt striker corrected his position so as not to be offside. On the other hand, he seemed full of anticipation of what was to come: the ball. When Danny da Costa finally flanked, Jovic left his watchers stand, jumped off and turned in the air so that he could use the flank with the outer toe Recycled 1: 1. Actually, his strike partner Sébastien Haller had stood much better behind him, but whoever hits is right. And Jovic is very often right, it was the 14th goal of the season for the best Bundesliga goalscorer.

Not without: Dortmund's Achraf Hakimi and Frankfurt Filip Kostic have supported their defensive chains, if that was needed. Above all, however, both left winger were involved in the game structure again and again. 108 ball actions for Hakimi, who played on his forehead following a collision with a large bandage, and 91 for Kostic were each team's best. The 35 sprints by Hakimi were also the highest point at BVB, Kostic (34) is thus third in the team behind Gelson Fernandez (39) and Ante Rebic (37).
