The African Football Confederation (CA) disciplinary committee has announced the suspension of Zambian referee Gani Sekazuri, who played Esperance in the first leg of the African Champions League semi-final on August 1.

In its report, the committee explained that the ruling was biased in favor of the Tunisian team, with suspicions of bribery, causing them to win the match and reaching the final.

Esperance crowned the African Champions League with a 4-3 win over Al Ahli in the aggregate.
